Tinku
Catalyze I Create I Reciprocate
In Quechua, the word “Tinku” means encounter but its symbolism runs deeper than that. Like two great rivers converging, Tinku is the alchemical force in nature that brings forth new life from old. It also expresses the heart of our transcultural mission: to catalyze creative exchange and meaningful encounter through transformational experiences in travel and education. Arkaea has created a free space where students imagine, explore, exchange ideas, and share experiences while making important alignments in their life and work. Working on projects with purpose and impact in another culture, their eyes are opened both to new possibilities and their own innate potential.
Arkaea Institute offers programming to student researchers and creative practitioners in the forms of field schools, residencies, and creative incubators with our community partners in the Ucayali Region of Perú. Programs may be proposed as an independent studies credit with your host university or college.
