Arkaea Arts
Arkaea Arts is our initiative to support local and indigenous arts and culture in Pucallpa and the surrounding region. Arkaea pledges to help the local community through initiatives and facilitating important opportunities for transcultural participation and exchange between with visiting international artists and students.
Free Enrolment
Arkaea offers free enrolment to Peruvian students by application, with priority being given to regional and indigenous students. In addition, all of our symposia are freely open to the local community.
Work and Sales Opportunities
Arkaea offers opportunities for teaching and mentoring for the local and indigenous creative community, with most of our programmes lead by local and indigenous experts and mentors. We are also currently in the process of developing a database to increase access and exposure to the work of regional artists and artisans.
Development Workshops
Arkaea is in the process of developing programmes and workshops that can help the local and indigenous creative community to become more sustainable economically such as in media arts and entrepreneurship. when you participate in Arkaea programming, you help our mission for cultural revitalization and development in the Ucayali Region.
Arkaea Summer Institute 2023:
Digital Storytelling as Creative Process and Documentation
We are planning a workshop in 2023 in Pucallpa as part of our inaugural Summer Institute with visiting and local students in digital storytelling and documentation. Students learn to use innovative methods to capture and iterate their processes and projects with the latest technologies and online platforms.
This workshop is being facilitated with the support of professors from the Eduardo Mesa Saravia School of Fine Arts in Pucallpa.
