Week One
Explore Pucallpa and immerse yourself in vibrant Amazon culture. Take boat tours to explore the Ucayali River region and visit local creative communities. Visit Santa Clara, a Shipibo-Conibo village dedicated to revitalizing their ancestral traditions. Take workshops in art practices with the local artisans and visit artist studios. Learn the ancestral techniques of slip-fired pottery and the mysterious meaning of “kené” designs.
Week Two
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Madre Selva’s rainforest conservation site. Participate in group exploratory workshops and exercises to connect with inner guides and gather fresh insights about your life and work. Learn a new perspective on life and creativity with local artist-mentors and traditional healers. Experiment with raw materials and new techniques and come home inspired.
Arkaea Residencies and field schools can be proposed as an independent study credit.
